For plus size women finding fashion brands that are actually on par with trends from the runways is almost impossible, but beauty mogul Priscilla Ono is changing that. Inspired by her love of the 90’s and the current wave of neon styles she partnered with Eloquii for a collection that will be turning heads all spring. You might know her as Fenty Beauty’s global makeup artist, but she also has a unique sense of personal style that is channeled throughout her collection. Eloquii’s design director Yesenia Torres sat on a panel at Beautycon NYC this weekend alongside Priscilla to talk about their capsule. “[The collection] was so perfect. Your style, your confidence, and all the boundaries that you push, it’s so much of what our brand stands for and I couldn’t have seen a better fit than this,” Torres told Priscilla.

Teen Vogue spoke with Ono during Beautycon on Saturday about the head-turning collection and what it means for her to design such expressive clothing for curvy girls. “Anytime I wear [Eloquii] pieces, I feel so confident and I feel like I can do my job because I look good,” Ono tells Teen Vogue. If you look good, you feel good and you show up and kill it — that’s her goal.

She might be in known for giving head turning makeup looks, but she tells us she can’t complete a beat face without knowing what her client’s outfit looks like or her own, “fashion is the root of me as a person.”

Ono also understands how hard it is to find stylish clothes as a plus size woman. “When I was growing up we didn’t have cool brands like Eloquii or any of the fashion brands right now. I had to be really creative and make a lot of my clothes and come up with looks,” she says. For Ono, it was super important for the line to be on trend. “The plus community never gets clothes that are actual on trend,” she says. “If anything we get it like a year later, a couple years later, it’s never when the trend is happening.”


She hit all of the trends in this collection, from bold neon colored dresses to chic pant suits that are complementing to curves. Some of Ono’s favorite pieces from the collection are the neon green utility jumpsuit, that can take you from work to play all season long, and the glam pack, think fanny pack, but for the girl on the go.
